August 2007 Clippings Quality Report

After compiling our clippings quality stats for August, we can report that the current percentage of articles needing improvement is 2.78%.

The top issues were

  1. Thumbnail errors: The thumbnail issue remains the largest issue, which should have been fixed in the latest build which was rolled out on the 28th August 07. The new build has also removed the pink from the FT pages.
  2. Ninestars errors: The main issues with Ninestars processing are context and style errors, and cut text. We hope to have reduced the context and style errors by circulating an updated general treatment rules document. The cutting of text is a manual process, but Ninestars have agreed to pay more attention whilst doing this to reduce the text cut errors.
  3. Human errors in post-processed articles: includes insertion of blank pages, problem articles being deemed okay in PP interface, and poor post-processing. These errors have continued to decrease over time.

Testing Sample:

3204 articles checked, 89 need improvement = 2.78%
