Who We Are

The Newspaper Licensing Agency was established by the UK national newspapers in 1996 to manage newspaper copyright collection.  The NLA works on behalf of the UK's newspapers and licenses organisations to make paper and digital copies of newspaper content. The NLA currently licenses over 150,000 businesses and organisations ranging from large government bodies, plcs, and limited companies to partnerships and public relations agencies.

Reprocessing

Please note in response to user requests we have set up an overnight facility to re-process articles that do not meet the clippings guidelines. This is available to all PCAs subject to them agreeing a review process to ensure that only genuinely faulty articles are submitted. The service is first come first served and we will not allow any other prioritisation method. As yet we have not set firm turn-round targets from report to re-process completion, as volumes have been variable as the system settles. If you want access to reprocessing overnight please contact your account manager.

Our initial experience is that significant false reports have slowed turn-round, and we request that all PCAs review the clippings guidelines (insert link). These were drawn up following extension consultation with the industry but we are open to suggestions on how these might be amended, and would welcome recommendations. We are also in the process of contacting PCAs and will be setting up sessions to enable group discussions in this area.
